It is ideal in a living room, a waiting room or a reception hall!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTRIO2, the first 100% eco-designed light fixture!\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEcodesign, what is it?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Ecodesign is the integration of environmental aspects from the design stage of a product, with the aim of reducing its environmental impacts throughout its life cycle with equivalent service provided.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eWe decided to choose a light fixture from our collections, in this case the TRIO1 floor lamp, to identify and measure all of its environmental impacts and to experiment with as many innovations as possible to reduce these impacts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e This TRIO1 floor lamp is equipped with several features: a lighting function, it is also equipped with a tablet and 2 USB ports.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTo begin with, an LCA (Life Cycle Analysis)\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e The Ecodesign Center therefore carried out the LCA of the TRIO1 street lamp for us and measured all of its impacts on the environment, at each stage of its life from the extraction of the raw materials necessary for its manufacture to its end of life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eImpacts of the materials used to manufacture it, impacts linked to its manufacture depending on the production methods, impacts of its packaging, its transport, its storage, its use, its possible repair to extend its lifespan and up to its recycling or disposal at the end of its life: everything has been examined in accordance with ISO 14040 and 14044 standards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe most impactful stages of the life of this luminaire\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe bulbs:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e The LCA of TRIO 1 determined that the stage of its life with the greatest impact on the environment corresponds to its use phase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e The cause: the bulbs! Their composition and energy consumption have a major impact on the environment and represent 92% of greenhouse gas emissions over the entire lifespan of the TRIO1 street lamp.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe quality of our lights gives them a very long life...which therefore requires several bulbs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eNote:\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cem\u003ethe TRIO1 floor lamp is sold without a bulb. Our only lever of action is to advise our customers on the choice of the most suitable bulb for optimized lighting. A metal plating is positioned above the 3D printed disc to maintain the original spirit of the wood\/metal design of the lamppost.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Making the disc in 3D printing also allows the lamppost feet to be easily inserted under the shelf. As a result, they are separated from the shelf in the packaging! This optimizes the packaging and reduces its weight by 54%.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Finally, 3D printing allowed us to design a hatch to easily access the USB port and its connectors, making its possible repair much easier and thus extending the lifespan of the luminaire.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEnvironmental gains:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e61% less steel\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cstrong\u003ein the luminaire structure.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cstrong\u003e44% less weight of the packaged luminaire.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cstrong\u003e55% less packaging weight.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eUSB ports\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e The 2 electronic modules including USB ports accounted for 7% of greenhouse gas emissions outside of use. These modules contain rare metals with a high negative impact on the environment relative to their size and weight.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e When we asked our customers, we found that one USB port was enough in 98% of cases. So we decided to equip the floor lamp with just one USB port.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEnvironmental gains\u003c\/strong\u003e :\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cstrong\u003e50% less impact on this function\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #bea495;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe lampshade\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Lampshades accounted for 6% of non-use greenhouse gas emissions\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe impacts of the lampshade were mainly the canvas polyphane and the substantial packaging in volume, necessary to protect it and ensure its storage and transport in good conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e We have not found any satisfactory solutions to replace polyphane.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e On the other hand, we have developed an extremely innovative lampshade.
